London Fashion Week SS14

Sunday 1 December 2013

Looking through my photograph archive the other day, I realised I'd never shared a couple of the images I took at London Fashion Week S/S14 - I posted the images on my photography blog but never elaborated on them. In the fast paced world of fashion these images are fairly redundant now, but never mind. I went along for CUB Magazine to the Bernard Chandran & Yeashin shows at the Freemason's Hall, queuing with the myriad bloggers and wannabe editors to get a peek at the collections. As a photographer, I was there for pictures primarily, and so I must admit I was focussed more on exposure and light balance for my images rather than taking a good look at the clothes. Neither of the collections were 'my style' - my style being normally monochrome, thrown on, and practical - but it's interesting to see a concept taken through to the final outcome. Bernard Chandran was my favourite of the two, with structured dresses and jackets featuring jewel colours and bright metallics, often embellished with gemstones and accompanied by tiara-like wire headdresses - and on one model even a pair of crystal covered headphones. I particularly loved the low V-shaped backs that a couple of the dresses featured (last lot of images). Maybe one day I'll be inspired to change up my style a little!
