TONGUE TIDE AT THE ROADTRIP BAR

Monday 20 August 2012

One of my best friends, Andy, was one of the first people to introduce me to the music that I'm so in love with now - some kind of gateway to good music! He also has put up with me for many years, attempted to teach me drums (no mean feat considering I have no hand-eye-foot-anything co-ordination), been my computer-fixer because I'm useless, and driven me about because... I'm useless there too. Notice a theme? Anyway. He's a great drummer, whacking out the double pedals for metal tracks for years, and now he plays with a new band - Tongue Tide, described as 'pop for [math] kids'. It's pretty different from the stuff we used to listen to! Whatever it is, I absolutely love it, especially after going to their live show at The Workshop (underneath The Roadtrip Bar on Old Street, near Shoreditch), where this video was filmed.

  1. Ah wow, this music is really cool. I don't usually listen to most instrumental ( is that right? ) pop, but this is awesome. When I first read the name, I thought you were talking about the song "Tongue Tied" that's been sweeping the US. XD
Anyways, thanks for visiting my blog!! I really like yours, and I sincerely hope we can keep in touch. :) Oh, and I noticed you blog for something for the Victoria and Albert Museum?? SO cool!! Did you get to see their Ballgowns exhibition?

    1. This is an interlude-type thing, so it's a bit more instrumental than their other stuff, but they definitely focus on the instrumental side as important. Rich has a great voice though!
Thank you! Yes, I blog for the museum as part of the youth collective, it's brilliant. The Ballgowns exhibition was so great, they had some beautiful stuff in there (plus the new fashion galleries are around it, which makes it more special in my opinion!)
