Grape | sand grain | human retina | leaf stem
I'm always one to love a bit of science mixed with art. Dr Gary Greenberg is a scientist and photographer who takes these images at up to 250x magnification. It's so strange to think that every single grain of sand looks different and up close some of them are these tiny little shells (ironically, I am watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and as I typed that sentence Jim Carey said 'Sand is overrated. It's just tiny little rocks'). I found them on page one hundred and three of 'did you know?' blog, which is also interesting if you want to waste a lot of time, like I quite often find myself doing.
