BERLIN IN DECEMBER

Saturday 11 February 2012

It was so cold a newspaper in the street froze overnight | a tree full of shoes, no idea | my beautiful friend Ashley from Wise Rabbit Says on one of the fairground rides | one of the wings of the Hamburger Bahnhof art museum | perfectly formed snowflakes fell nearly the entire trip, which I spent wishing I had a macro lens | Berlin architecture | testing the fly eye lens I bought in the Guggenheim museum | morbid exhibits in the Pergamonmuseum

I realised that I never uploaded any photos of my trip to Berlin during my Art Foundation year. It was such a good trip, the first chance we all got to really bond with the group and I've made some wonderful friends from it. Thinking of how nervous I was to go, and that I nearly didn't, makes me realise how much I nearly missed out just because of some ridiculous social anxiety. We packed such a short amount of time full of visits to galleries, museums and interesting places, and still managed to miss a massive amount. Berlin is definitely on my list of places to re-visit. I took hundreds of photos and I made one of my favourite sketchbooks from the course on this trip - it still remains partly unfinished to this day!
