HISTORY | Ten years

My thoughts are with all who were, and continue to be affected by the attack on the World Trade centre ten years ago today. My boyfriend's father was nearly caught up in it; the father of an old friend from my childhood in America should have been working there that day. Unlike many other people, I can't remember what I was doing at the time I found out about the attacks - my family were caught up in the death of my grandfather, who finally passed two days afterwards. However, years on, the utter devastation that the attacks caused a country, a city and thousands upon thousands of people still shows a decade on. Whether people agree or disagree with the events that followed the attack, the anniversary of it should not be used as a chance to vent about political and religious differences, but to remember the people that died, and the people that were left behind.
